Making sure families are able to stay healthy

    Day 80

    Taking Our Medicine

Hello, hello! It’s our third and final day in Jordan and we’re busy responding to the coronavirus. Today, we’re focusing on getting necessary medicines to those who need them. We’re with our partner organization Questscope again, and we’re really seeing the ways in which they live their motto, “putting the last, first.”

Specifically, we’re making sure that 38 at-risk children have access to the life-saving medicines they need, even if their parents aren’t able to work and afford them as so many of us are encouraged to stay at home during this time.

One of these recipients is Katrine, an 8-year-old girl living with type II diabetes that was caused by a medical mistake. Her father is currently unable to work, and because the family doesn’t have any type of health insurance, it also means they aren’t able to afford the insulin she needs to regulate her blood sugar.

Another of the recipients is Shady, a 7-year-old boy who suffers from severe asthma. His parents are also unable to work right now, meaning it’s very difficult for his family to afford his asthma medication.

Now, because of this Changemakers project, both families will be able to get by for the next few weeks.

This change made possible by Tradition Capital Bank.
