    Make a Gift of Stock
    You can save money by giving shares of stock. By giving shares, you can avoid taxes on any stock gains while also supporting Alight and refugees around the world. And you’ll get a tax deduction for the full market value of your stock. Stock gifts can be transferred directly to Alight's broker. Please notify Alight of the transfer to ensure proper credit for the donation and call us with any questions. Once the transaction is complete, a receipt and acknowledgement will be sent.

    Take Advantage of Workplace Giving
    You can bring lifesaving relief to refugees through your workplace’s United Way, Global Impact or other employee giving campaign. It's one of the easiest ways to support refugees. With employee giving campaigns, your donation is made before taxes and is automatically split into monthly or bi-weekly contributions over the course of the year. And, your contribution is tax-deductible. Help us bring life-saving support to refugees by selecting Alight on your Global Impact donation form or entering our name on your United Way pledge form.

    Have your employer match your gift
    Did you know that thousands of companies match donations by employees to our organization? Last year, donors raised an additional $169K to help displaced people by submitting their donations to be matched by their companies and organizations! 93% of all donors submit matches electronically.     Make a Gift through an Individual Retirement Account (IRA)
    It is easy to give through a retirement distribution. Alight (formerly American Refugee Committee) is a 501(c)(3) organization with the EIN 36-3241033, eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions. Because circumstances may vary from person to person, discuss any questions about the tax treatment of this transfer with your tax advisor. When requesting funds to be disbursed to Alight, ask to include your name on the check in the address block or memo for easy processing. Please send your IRA distribution to our address, and notify Dawn to watch for your gift:

    Make a Legacy Gift
    There are a number of ways you can leave your legacy with Alight. You can leave a gift to Alight in your personal will or trust. It's actually pretty easy. We've provided some sample legal language (below) that you could add to your will or trust. Making a Legacy Gift to Alight is as easy as adding some short language to your will or trust. Maybe even simpler, you can make Alight a beneficiary of an IRA account or an insurance policy. Just add "Alight" as a beneficiary of your account.
    "I give and bequeath the sum of [XXX] dollars ($XXX) to the Alight ..." or "I give, devise and bequeath [description of asset(personal property,etc.)] to Alight"
    Create a Charitable Remainder Trust
    When a donor puts property into a Charitable Remainder Trust, the donor continues to receive income from the property during the life of the trust. Alight then receives what property remains at the end of the trust. Contact your financial planner to discuss creating a Charitable Remainder Trust benefitting Alight.
    Create a Charitable Lead Trust
    When a donor puts property into a Charitable Lead Trust, Alight will receive income from the property during the life of the trust. When the trust ends, a non-charitable beneficiary then receives full ownership of what remains in the trust. Contact your financial planner to discuss creating a Charitable Lead Trust benefitting Alight.

    Manage Your Donation

    Below is information on how to Edit, Update, or Cancel Your Recurring Donation

    Create An Account To Manage Your Donation
    Before you start: As a supporter, you can edit, update, and cancel your recurring donation by creating an account here. Be sure to use the same email address you gave when you set up your donation. If you have already logged into your account before or set up a password previously, log into your account here. Once you've set up your account, to edit, update, or cancel your recurring donation: go to your Supporter Page. You'll need to use the email address you entered when you first donated. 1. If you haven't already, sign into your account 2. Scroll to Recurring Donation 3. Under the recurring donation, select Edit Donation Note: If you can't find the edit donation button, contact Donor Services at: annieb@wearealight.org to help you make changes.
    Edit Recurring Donation
    Now, you can edit your recurring donation, including the frequency, amount, end date, and payment information. Make your changes, then select Save Changes.
    Update Your Payment Information
    To update your recurring donation's payment information, follow the same steps for editing recurring donations and select Update payment. Then, enter your new payment information and select Save Payment. You can also change your payment method to a bank transfer or credit card.
    Cancel Your Donation
    To cancel your recurring donation, follow the steps above and select Cancel recurring donation. Then, confirm cancel.
    FAQ
    I can't edit my donation If you followed the steps on this page and cannot edit your donation, please contact Donor Services at annieb@wearealight.org. The page is not loading. What should I do? If you are using Safari as your web browser, you may need to disable cross-site tracking. To do so, follow these instructions. If you are using another browser, you may need to clear your cache. View our guide to learn how to clear your browser's cache. Why did my recurring donation fail? The most common cause for a failed recurring donation is an expired credit card. To fix the issue, update your credit card information using the steps above. If you've recently moved, you may also need to update your billing address. If your card information and billing address are up to date, we recommend contacting your card issuer or bank for help. Can I retry my recurring donation after it has failed? Yes, instead of waiting for the next processing date, you could update the next processing date to tomorrow. That way, your donation will be processed again. You can always edit the date again to change it back to your preferred processing date by using the steps above. Can I put my recurring donation on pause? While there is no official way to pause, you can always change the frequency and processing date to control when you give.
