Watching the crisis in Ukraine unfold can feel overwhelming and makes one ask the question, “What can I do to help?”
We’ve complied 4 inspiring stories of people who are Doing the Doable to make a change and assist Ukrainian refugees.
myTalkers For Ukraine
MyTalk107 is a longtime partner and friend of Alight. Radio talk show host Bradley Traynor traveled with us to Uganda and Rwanda and has supported Alight for many years. Seeing what was happening in Ukraine and wanting to make a difference, the crew at myTalk came to Alight with a plan. They wanted to use their platform to raise funds to support Ukraine. Starting with a goal of $10,000 they quickly surpassed it, leading them to change their goal to $100,000! The myTalkers showed up with immense abundance and raised a total of $128,000 all to support Ukraine!
Ukrainian Easter Bread Class
This team is really rising to the occasion! Ritual Fine Foods and Sarah Owens are putting together a Ukrainian Easter bread making class for anyone who wants to learn and support Ukraine! This is a fun way to support Ukraine as well as experience a little of their traditional cuisine. The class is March 29th and you can sign up here https://ritualfinefoods.com/products/ukrainian-easter-bread-workshop-fundraiser
Beauty and a Message
Tia Keo is a Minneapolis based artist who has designed a beautiful piece to stand with refugees as well as elevate any outfit. Her OPEN DOOR pin is created to symbolize that everyone is welcome and no one should be rejected at a border. All profits from the pins will benefit Ukrainians. Thinx Supporting Alight
Thinx is an environmentally friendly period underwear. Thinx has been incredibly supportive of Alight by donating their product to new arrived Afghan women in Minnesota. They’ve now wowed us once again with their most recent donation of $25,000 to Alight to support of operations in Ukraine.
From radio listeners joining together to people baking bread together, it’s inspiring all the ways people from around the world are showing up for Ukraine.
